语言与性别已成为社会语言学的一个热门研究点。文章详细叙述了语言与性别在不同时期的研究成果,即零散研究时期和系统研究时期;关于语言性别差异的解释当前所存在的几种理论:缺陷论、支配论、差异论、礼貌论、建构论;以及国内相关研究和研究现状。该文章给读者提供了一个清晰的语言与性别相关研究的框架,并在一定程度上指明了未来该领域的研究思路。

Language and gender has already become a popular research point. This article reviews the research discoveries at different periods in detail; there are five main theories as to the explanation of gender differences in language： defect theory, dominance theory, difference theory, polite theory and construction theory. Besides, the author also reviews the researches on language and gender in China and its current research situation. This article provides readers a clear theoretical framework of language and gender, and proposes the trend of further study to some degree.
