翻译理论的模糊性——简论严复的“信、达、雅”和奈达的等值翻译理论

On Fuzziness of Yanfu's and Nida's Translation Theories

语言学,简而言之就是对语言进行研究的一门学科。模糊性是自然语言的本质属性之一。翻译作为语际间转换的活动,其基本事实就是用译入语来传达源语言所隐含的意义,作为指导翻译活动的翻译理论从本质上是模糊的。严复的"信、达、雅"翻译标准一直以来就对中国翻译界产生了深远的影响;奈达的等值翻译理论在中国译界也是具有很重要的地位。二者都对翻译实践具有不可忽视的指导意义。但是二者从本质上来说,并不是对翻译标准的精确描述,而是通过模糊表达指出了翻译的模糊美。

Linguistics is the study of language.Fuzziness is the nature of language.Translation is closely related to linguistics.The basic principle of translation practice is to transfer the meanings of the original language to the target language.Both Yanfu s ＂faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance＂ and Nida s equivalent theory have important influences on China s translation field.In nature,these two theories have shown the fuzzy beauty of translation by using fuzzy words.
