北京大学地质学系创建于1909年,是我国高等学校中建立的第一个地质学系。2009年迎来了北京大学地质学系建系一百周年。本文概述了地质学系百年奋进,持续发展的历程,精心育人,人才辈出,不断取得的成绩;决心面向未来,深化改革,科学发展,为把北京大学地质学系建设成为世界一流大学地质学系而努力奋斗。

Department of Geology,Peking University,founded in 1909,was the fi rst department of geology established in higher education institutions of China. The year of 2009 welcomes the 100th anniversary of foundation. The paper articulates the process of fighting ways in the past century and developing continuously,and generalizes the brilliant achievements of cultivating talents elaborately and talents coming forth in large numbers. Facing the future,deepening reform and scientific development,People of department of geology, Peking University will strive hard to make it be the first class department of university in the world.
