摘要
某著名景区新增的历史典故场景,其名称翻译属于应用翻译,应以功能目的论为指导确定翻译策略。鉴于所涉及的文化意象对异域受众具有不可接受性但又不能简单略去,又因空间限制必须简短且不允许加注,故可以参考关联理论以及格式塔心理学相关原则等,译名只译典故内涵,而将现场导游纳入视野,由其现场解说担当"阐释"或"注解"作用,构成译名的无形部分,笔译与口译分工协作,共同完成翻译沟通活动全过程。由此可见,应用翻译往往需要综合考虑可能参与翻译活动过程之中的所有各方及其角色功能。
Translating the allusive names of historical scenes for a tourist attraction is pragmatic and should be guided by the Skopos Theory. Since the cultural images in such allusions are often unacceptable to the audience yet cannot be simply omitted, their translation may appeal to Relevance Theory as well as Gestalt principles and focus on their connotations, while the necessary "paraphrase", "interpretation", or "annotation", is assigned to the tour guide on site, so that the whole cross cultural process is to be completed by both the translator and the interpreter.Pragmatic translations, therefore, often have to consider all the participants or factors that may involve in the communication activity.
