Making Foreign Language Learners Well-trained with Solid Foundations, Strong Capabilities, and High Qualities to Meet Multi-social Demands and Multigoal Orientations——New Thoughts on Reform of English-major Education

当前英语专业教育教学改革应澄清三个基本问题:学科定位问题、教育目的问题和培养目标问题。从这三个问题出发,英语专业应找准其学科发展方向,确定其专业发展定位,突出人才培养特色,面向多元社会需求和多元目标取向,培养"厚基础、强能力、高素质"的英语人才。

In the current education there is in dire reform of English-major need of addressing three fundamental questions, namely, of disciplinary orientation, education aim, and training goal. Starting from these three questions, English-major education should properly identify where to go as a discipline, where to end in development, and how to achieve its own characteristics in training. It is suggested that it should make English learners well-trained with solid foundations, strong capabilities, and high qualities to meet multi-social demands and multi-goal orientations.
