说明土体抗剪强度的两种确定方法的适用条件；分析了基坑周边土体内孔隙压力随工程进展而变化的情况；指出控制基坑支护结构稳定的工况，叙述相应工况下的水土压力分算和合算方法。分析了近几年在国内流行的土压力计算方法与国际惯用方法的差别，从而表明它们的合理性和适用条件。
