摘要
由于现代语篇的多模态性，传统的以读写为主的单一阅读教学已不再适用，现代英语阅读教学有必要培养学生的多模态识读能力。英语阅读教学中的书面语篇具有意义丰富的多模态资源，因此培养学生的多模态识读能力需要教师的明确指导、学生有的放矢的实践，并要充分利用语篇外的多模态资源开展相应的课外活动。
The traditional reading teaching centering on reading and writing only is no longer applicable to teaching the modern discourses because of their muhimodality. Therefore, in modern English reading teaching it is essential to develop students＇ multiliteraeies. Written texts are abundant in muhimodal resources with rich meaning, which entails teachers＇ overt instruction and students＇ targeted practice in the development of their muhiliteracies. Meanwhile, it is necessary to get students involved in extracurricular activities by making full use of the multimodal resources beyond written texts.
