Fuzzy Character of Language and the Feasibility and Limitation of Fuzzy Translation——Two Versions of "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond"

模糊性是人类语言的一种客观属性。语言的模糊性必然会给翻译带来许多问题,包括翻译标准本身、源出词的理解和译入语的表达。精确的翻译只能是相对而言。文章分析了语言模糊性的具体表现,《荷塘月色》两译本中模糊语言翻译的局限性和可能性,希望能更深层次地挖掘作品的价值,对后来研究者有所启发。

Fuzziness is an objective attribute of human language.The nature of language can inevitably bring many problems to translation,including the standards of translation,as well as understanding the source language and choosing proper target language.Accurate translation is only a relative concept.The concrete manifestations of fuzziness of language is studied in this paper with discussions about the limitations and possibilities of translating fuzzy language by comparing two versions of ＂Moonlight over the Lotus Pond＂,hoping to come up with new value and give some clues for new research.
