Recently the project for development of novel catalysts for synthesis of low-carbon mixed alcohols from syngas and associated process technology units performed by the CAS Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry has made breakthroughs as the pilot unit has been operating smoothly for 1200 hours. The successful operation of the pilot unit has laid a solid foundation for the conslruction ofa 10 kt/a commercial demonsWation unit to promise a rosy commercial application prospect for replacing the conventional methanol production process.
