Emily Dickinson is not only the most legendary and outstanding genius, but also an exceedingly sol- itary and reclusive poetess. In her poems, one can often find layers of meanings and wisdom that are hard to comprehend. This article tries to analyze some of her poems, through the translation of Dr. William Marr ( Fei Ma), to see how she managed to unite her images of innocence and experience, and to produce a double vi- sion with her contradictory or opposite concepts, and eventually to pursue a pure literary expression.
