随着全球化进程加快,越来越多的海外游客进入中国,而品尝目的地的美食已经成为旅游活动的一项主要组成部分。菜单上的菜名作为一种传递信息和传播文化的方式,其英译是否合适在文化交流中起着至关重要的作用。本文从交际翻译理论出发,探寻菜名翻译的基本原则,并从菜名分类上详细探讨了菜名翻译的具体方法。
With the process of globalization,an increasing number of overseas tourists are flooding into China.As tasting local food has become a major component of a tour,the translation of Chinese dishes plays a vital role in informing the diners and in promoting the understanding of Chinese culture.Employing the communicative translation theory,this paper sets out to explore their translation principles and strategies.
