It is well noticed that there exists a phenomenon of mutual complementation between Confucianism and Daoism in the ancient Chinese realm of philosophy. Zhou Yi ( "Book of Changes" ) is regarded as classics by Confucianism and Daoism. Owing to its own intrinsic characteristics, Zhou Yi contains the seeds (gene) which develop into Confucianism and Taoism. The ancient Text of Zhouyi is the common text which Confucianism and Taoism originated from. The Commentaries of Zhouyi make Confucianism and Daoism combined truly. Zhouyi becomes a common framework for discussion and joint field for thinking. Such things as symbols, Yin & Yang, combination of human beings and nature in Zhou Yi all have provided methods, media, basis and thinking for the combination between Confucianism and Daoism, and they also helped to realize the mix and combination of Confucianism and Taoism.
