The article introduces the whitening mechanism of fluorescent whitening agent,and the main kinds of fluorescent whitening agents which have been used in paper industry.Focuses are on the application methods of the fluorescent whitening agents in papermaking wet-end,surface sizing and pigment coating.and the factors affecting their performance.
