To summarize and to discuss the relative studies in terms of antibacterial peptides, the literatures correlated with the research of antibacterial peptides were collected, and the progress in the study and development of antibacterial peptides were summarized. The finding, classifications, operational principles, molecular mechanism, applications, strategys of gene expression and prospects of antibacterial peptides were reviewed. Antibacterial peptides have been one of the attractive candidates to be used as an anti-infection drug. This paper might throw light on the research of antibacterial peptides, and could contribute to the development of such novel anti-infectious drugs in the future.
