This paper introduces methods of developing deck motion criteria for US Navy carrier-based aircrafts,and analyzes definitions of relevant limitations.A discussion is also given to the limitations about deck attitude and wind over deck（WOD） employed in flight operations aboard USN aircraft carriers.Updated ship deck motion criteria for fixed wing aircraft＇s launch,recovery and transfer operation are also provided.
