浅探英语中的性别歧视现象

A Survey of Sexism in English

语言不仅是社会和思维的写照,而且对社会和思维产生了重大影响。英语中的性别歧视现象不是存在于语言本身的。社会变革是语言变革的基础,当人们试图去摒弃语言中的性别歧视的同时,事实上是试图改变女性的社会地位。本文着重从词汇、句法以及表达等方面分析了英语中存在的性别歧视现象以及产生这些现象的原因,从而最终实现成功的交际。

Language is not only the mirror of thought and society, it a/se exerts strong influence on thought and society. It is not easy to find that the sexism in English language does not reside in language itself. Social change is the basis of language change. When people take steps to change the sexual discrimination in language structure, they are in fact trying to change women＇s status in society. This paper focus on vocabulary, syntax, the order of words and the contents of communication when involve with＇sexism in English. Therefore it intends to find some reasons behind these aspects in order to avoid sexual discrimination in communication and makes communication ap-propriate and successful in the coming days.
