Lei Feng （December 18, 1940 - August 15, 1962） was a soldier in the People＇s Liberation Army （PLA） of the People＇s Republic of China （PRC）. He was always ready to help others. After his death, Lei was characterized as a selfless and modest person, who was devoted to the Communist Party of China （CPC） and the people of China. In 1963, he became the subject of a nationwide, posthumous publicity campaign of ＂Learning from Comrade Lei Feng.＂
