社会语言学视角下的大学英语教学

College English Teaching from the Perspective of Social Linguistics

分析社会语言学对外语教学在内容和方法上产生的的影响,认为社会语言学注重交际功能和交际任务的完成及其效应,因而在外语教学方面应强调学生的交际能力的培养,从教学内容上不仅包括传统教学所注重教授的语音、词汇和语法结构,也包括语义范畴,话语的交际功能,学生的交际能力等。同时社会语言学中的变体也是反映文化的一面镜子,而中西方文化的差异又体现在语篇的组织和结构上。

Social liguistics is the study of language from the society,which focuses on the varieties instead of common features of language.This paper arrives to three influential aspects on college English teaching with the help of basic study of theories and methods on social linguistics.College English teaching emphasizes students＇ communicative competence because social linguistics stresses on communiative functions and accomplishments of communiative tasts.Therefore,college English teachers should not merely focuse on pronunciation,words and grammar while teaching,communiative competence is put more weight.Meanwhile,as the mirror of culture,the varieties in language suggests us the importance of culture awareness and hence the passage organizations.
