New ISO standard 〈 Sampling airborne radioactive materials from the stacks and ducts of nuclear facilities 〉, which is different from the previous standard, suggests adopting Single - Point probe for airborne effluent sampling of nuclear facilities. The probe should be disposed where the fluid is in good mixing. In addition, the new standard requests the transmission ratio of sampling system should not less than 50% for 10 μm aerodynamic equivalent diameter (AED) aerosol particle. The background and main content of the new stand- ard are introduced, and the new standard is contrasted with ANSI/HPS N13.1 -1999. Moreover, the imple- ment method and actuality of the new standard is discussed.
