摘要
随着基因组测序等生物学技术的发展,海量生物学数据不断产生,生物计算对计算能力和存储量的要求也越来越高.云计算所具有的高速的计算能力、高存储量以及使用方便等特点能够很好地满足生物研究的需求,融合云计算成为生物计算发展的趋势.总结了可用于生物技术领域的云平台以及云计算在生物学研究中的应用,并指出了云计算在生物技术领域的发展前景及面临的挑战.
With the deveIopment of biotechnology such as genome sequencing, huge amounts of biological data is producing constantly. The requirement in the speed and storage capability of biological computing is increasing. Clouds computing, which has the characteristics of super calculation speed, large memory capability and convenient use, is capable to fulfill the requirement of biologists well. The integration of clouds computing becomes a development trend of biological computing. In this paper, we summarized the clouds platform which can be applied in the area of biotechnology and the biological study using clouds computing in recent years, and analyzed the prospect and challenges of clouds computing in biotechnology.
