This article introduces the working principle of mechanical transmission synchronizer, and lists the composition of synchronizer, details the calculation of the synchronization time and locking conditions of synchronizer, and gives the criteria of synchronization time for commercial vehicle synchronizer. This work may provides a basis for the design of the synchronizer.
