Current Situations and Thoughts on Buck’s Literatures Collect and Classification

卜凯,美国著名的中国农业经济学家,一生著述颇丰,成果达78部(篇),但是,他的成果文献大都是英文版和民国时期的,目前国内所挖掘到的数量非常有限。这主要是重视不够、视野不宽等方面原因造成的。为此,我们应坚持文字与实物资料、国内与国外挖掘整理并重,并做好实地考查和人员的走访工作,以推动卜凯问题的研究走向深入。

John Lossing Buck, a famous Sino-agricultural economist in America, has many works through his life, the total amount of his achievements is about 78. But, most of his achievements and literatures are in English or made in Republican government period, so what we can find and get in China is very limited. The causes for this are inadequate emphasis and narrow horizon and so on. So we should iay equal stress on scripts and material objects, mining from domestic and overseas, and also making field surveys and visiting in- volved people, to promote the research work of Buck.
