摘要
大学英语教学改革是一个由来已久的话题,然而我国多数高校在教学内容的改革上并没有实质性的进展,而其重要性和迫切性备受关注。在此背景下,结合本校学生的英语水平、自主学习能力和教师的业务能力,本课题组构建了一个个性化拓展课程为主的大学英语课程模式,以期探出一条对教学内容有实质性改变的道路。这个模式就是适当减少基础英语(EGP),强化个性化的拓展课程(体现个人特长的语言技能以及/或专门用途英语(ESP))。
Based on the increasing demands from both students and teachers, and to renovate the content of college English teaching, a new curriculum of "EGP (English for General Purpose) + individualized follow-up courses + comprehensive lin- guistic skills and/or ESP ( English for Special Purpose) courses" has been designed and carried out. The present paper is a brief report on this study in an attempt to shed some light on the college English teaching reform in China' s technical and engineering colleges and universities.
