Science and technology commissioners from universities are a necessary requirement of industry-academy- research cooperation in a new period. It is also a value embodiment of universities as a cradle of technology. In the paper, some advantages of science and technology commissioners from universities are introduced firstly. Then, the strategic significance of science and technology commissioners from universities to the development of China ceramic industry is analyzed. At last, suggestions to encourage the science and technology commissioners from universities are proposed.
