On the Nature of Taigu School as a Folk Religion in Its Early Stage

太谷学派在早期传播过程中,周太谷等各传山长为了扩大影响和组织,采用民间宗教传播的神秘方式,营造出一定的"超个人魅力"。他们对传统儒学采取了组织化、宗教化等处理方式,使得太谷学派兼具学术性和宗教性,从而表现出鲜明的儒学世俗化特征。

In its early stage,Taigu School presented itself as a folk religion so as to increase its influence.Zhou Taigu and some other heads of the School reconstructed Chinese traditional Confucianism to some degree and turned it into a religion and the School both a religious and academic organization.
