As an important feature of the third industrial revolution, 3D printing technology attracts extensive attention. In this paper, the characteristics of 3D printing technology, domestic and international development trends and the impact on China＇ s economic restructuring are analyzed, and the development strategy of 3D printing technology in China is advised. It is necessary to strengthen top- level design of 3D printing technology and industrial innovation, and implement the in- dustrial macro- planning and guidance, and carry out national research programs to develop manufacturing industry of 3D printing technology. Besides, it is essential to cultivate innovation leading talents of 3D printing manufacturing period, and explore new mechanisms to implement the industrialization of research findings of 3D printing technology, to promote the mutual integration and development of industrial, innovation and value chains.
