摘要
提出了一种针对细节丰富的静态图像的压缩算法。它根据图像经小波 ( Wavelet)分解后系数的特点和人眼视觉特性 ( HVS)对 Shapiro的 EZW( Embedded zerotree wavelet)算法进行改进 ,解决了 EZW算法不能有效地压缩细节丰富图像的问题 ,同时对一般图像的编码仍保留了 EZW算法的高效性。
A detailed still image coding algorithm is introduced. According to the characteristics of coefficients in higher subbands and human visual system (HVS), we try to improve Shapiro′s EZW algorithm. We have implemented the enhanced algorithm and found it capable of solving the problem which cannot be effectively handled by EWZ algorithm for coding detailed images. Even more, the algorithm can also keep the high performance of EZW algorithm for common image coding.
