城市化的进程与经济结构的进化密切相关。城市化的本质是资源在地理空间上的集聚，工业生产力的高度发展必须依托于规模经济和积聚经济的发展。城市化也是工业化的必然结果，工业化是城市化的必要条件。伴随着产业结构的调整，城市化的进程将加快。城市化是解决中国经济与社会发展诸多矛盾的关键。

The process of urbanization is closely related to evolution of economic structure. Urbaniza- tion, in essence, means geographic centralization of resources. Highly developed industries rely on large- scale economy and concentrated economy. In this sense Urbanization is the inevitable result of industrializa- tion, and the indispensable condition of industrialization. The pace of urbanization process is quickened with adjustment of industrial structure. Meanwhile, urbanization is the key to many problems in Chinese econo- my and social development.
