A Decade of Systemic-functional Linguistics Approach to Translation Studies in China: Retrospect and Prospect

本文通过对2004年至今我国系统功能语言学视角翻译研究相关文献的搜集与梳理,从系统功能语言学及其组成部分——纯理功能理论、语境理论、评价分析及语法隐喻理论等五个不同方面切入,探讨了其对翻译研究的理论意义和应用价值,报告了我国在该领域探索所取得的成绩及存在的不足,展望了未来发展的广阔前景。

Through the analysis of a decade of literature, published in China since 2004, of Systemic Functional Linguistics approach to translation studies, this paper reviews the literature and discusses the theoretical and applied values of the Hallidayan theory as a whole, and its organic subordinate theories in particular： metafunctions, verbal contexts, appraisal analysis, and grammatical metaphor, in relation to translation studies. The paper presents the merits and demerits in retrospect, and the promising developments in prospect, of the said field.
