An Application of Rapid Prototyping Technology in China

摘要 快速原型开发,作为一种不同于传统的软件开发方法,于80年代初提出,现已逐步得到广泛应用。本文介绍了原型开发的基本思想和构造原型的几种途径。描述了用快速原型技术开发应用软件的过程。讨论了快速原型技术对开发环境和开发人员的要求。本文的研究是在UNIX环境下用shcel语言建立教务管理系统的原型;设计了一个用户界面开发系统UIDS,用以快速生成用户界面原型. Rapid prototyping technology is developing at a rapid pace.The authors have used it successfully to facilitate the development of software. It is expected that our research results will lead to considerable savings in time and money in China's socialist construction because software so developed contains much less features that are unsatisfactory to Chinese users. The answer to the authors' success is very simple.The authors deal seriously and effectively with a real problem that handicaps the development of software in China. In the beginning, the user is not really clear about his requirements. Research and development that conform with the user's initial requirements has often gone too far before the user finds out that the software he gets is unsatisfactory. Now is the time to explain concisely what is essentially the way the authors deal technically with the above-mentioned real problem (that handicaps the development of software in China). The authors designed and have begun to put UIDS (User Interface Development System)to use. UIDS consists of semantic mapping table, UTMS(Uscr Interface Management System), dialogue development tools, and application programs. Dialogue sequences are controlled by dialogue control mechanism which is programmed into UTDS and some of the application programs.Dialoguc data are stored in the semantic mapping table which is managed by UIMS. Incidentally it is perhaps of some interest to mention that the high level command language Shell is used to develop an application software prototype that can be very helpful in developing software that streamlines administrative work in a university dean's office.
