Catalytic performances of a series of Ni/ZrO 2 catalysts for the partial oxidation of methane to syngas were evaluated under the conditions: temperature range 773 ̄1073 K, GHSV range 130 ̄880 L/(g·h) and CH 4/O 2 vol ratio range 1 ̄6. The results revealed that the Ni/ZrO 2 catalysts with rare earth additives were good ones for the partial oxidation of methane to syngas. The CH 4 conversion was more than 92%, and CO and H 2 selectivity above 90% at 973 K and space velocity of 284 L/(g·h) with CH 4/O 2 vol ratio 2.
