论政府网站“各省市街道办事处”的汉英译名统一问题

On Consistency of the C-E Translated Names ＂Sub-branch Office in Different Provinces＂ on Government Websites

中国各省市政府网站是政府发布信息的重要平台，是政府电子政务的服务窗口。“各省市街道办事处”都有可见的汉英译名，但其存在严重混乱的问题，主要表现在：（1）汉语拼音式组合；（2）省市译名不符合目的语习惯；（3）“街道办”译名不统一。本文分析了译名混乱的成因，根据内涵统一的原则提出“××市××区人民政府××街道办事处”的统一译名建议：Sub-district Office of the People’s Government of＋地区名，＋区（县）级名，＋市级名，＋省级名。

The government website in each province is an important platform for the government to publicize governmental information as well as a service access for E-government affairs. The translated names of ＂Sub-branch Office in Different Provinces＂ can be seen on different websites, but there are serious problems in different translated versions, such as a phonetic combination of Chinese, inconformity with the target language expressive ways in the translation of provincial and municipal names and the inconsistency on the translation of ＂Sub-branch Office＂. This thesis will analyze the reasons accounting for the problems and propose a consistent translated name in line with the principle of connotation consistency, namely ＂Sub-district Office of the People＇ s Government of × District, × County, × City, × Province ＂
