文章以作者撰写的新书《建筑学与系统生态学:环境建筑设计的热力学原理》为基础,阐述了环境建筑设计所面临的挑战,并运用从霍华德·奥德姆的生态系统生态学发展而来的概念,讨论了环境、建筑和设计这三个相互关联的主题。能量系统语言为评价建筑中的各项性能——从能源利用到材料选择,甚至是建筑风格的确定提供了完整的语境,为建立环境建筑设计积极应对当下复杂环境所应遵循的环境原则提供了基础。
This article explains the argument of the forthcoming book, Architecture and Systems Ecology: Thermodynamic Principles of Environmental Building Design, which addresses this design challenge and explores three interconnected topics--environment, buildings, and design--using concepts from systems Ecology, as developed by H. T. Odum. The energy systems language provides a holistic context for the many kinds of performance already evaluated inarchitecture--from energy use to material selection and even to the choice of building style. It establishes the foundation for environmental principles of design that embrace the full complexity of our current situation
