According to the conception and understanding of patron,the essay explores the differences of arts patrons between China and the West in 15—17centuries.It focuses on three aspects about the characteristics of the patrons：the benefit views,the attitudes to arts and the patrons＇status.The purpose of the investigation is to find out what leads to the differences.
