Research Progress in the Relation between Betarophin and Diabetes Mellitus

Betatrophin是新近发现的分泌蛋白,其在小鼠肝脏、棕色脂肪以及白色脂肪等组织表达,而在人的肝脏组织中高效表达。目前,Betatrophin被认为是可以治疗甚至治愈糖尿病的潜在靶点。最近,相关研究表明,Betatrophin在小鼠的体内可促进胰岛β细胞增殖、提高糖耐量的作用。但是betatrophin在人类糖尿病的发生、发展过程中所起作用的大小目前尚不明确。因此,虽然Betatrophin被认为是目前潜在的具有临床上治愈糖尿病的可能,但是是否能在人类中实现医学界目前尚存在争议。

Betatrophina,a secreted protein,was found recently.Betatrophin is expressed in liver,brown adipose tissue,white adipose tissue in mice,and is specifically expressed in human liver.At present,brtatro-phin have been known as a new and potential way to treat,or even cure the diabetes mellitus.Recent studies showed that betatrophin can promote the proliferation of pancreatic islet beta cells ,improve glucose tolerance in mice,though its function in the onset and development of diabetes mellitus in human is not clear yet . Therefore it′s still controversial whether the potential of betatrophin in curing diabetes can realize in human.
