The Discrimination and Arrogation of Reason and Faith in the Thought of Aquinas

理性与信仰间的张力一直是西方哲学的一大景观。托马斯·阿奎那作为经院哲学的集大成者,力求对理性和信仰进行划界,并且体现出其宽容和自由的精神,在此基础上开出了宇宙论意义上神性的自由与知识论意义上人的意志自由。但由于阿奎那在理性与信仰的划界界定中有相互僭越的情况,反而减弱了界划本身所放射出的自由光芒。

The tension between reason and faith has always been a big attraction in Western philosophy. Thomas Aquinas, as a master of scholastic philosophy, strives to separate reason and faith, shows its spirit of tolerance and freedom, and explores the divinity freedom from the cosmology and the will freedom from epistemology. However, due to the arrogation in the discrimination of reason and faith, the meaning of discrimination has been weaken.
