Nanshe Founder NING Tiaoyuan's Early Poetry Composition

作为南社创始人之一的宁调元,不仅是辛亥革命史上著名政治活动家,还是南社最重要的诗人。在其短暂的生命历程中,诗歌创作经历了三个时期:1907年以前为第一期。这一时期是宁调元青少年时期的创作,模山范水、披风抹月、离情别绪、咏物感时占有相当大的比重。从这些诗中,可以感受到少年诗人纯净的胸怀和静谧的情绪。他的诗内容上有三个特色:其一是特别擅长描写秋天的景象,抒发秋天的情思;其二是多写表现作者人格情操的咏物诗;其三是表现从军报国的志向与关心国事、忧心如焚的情怀。艺术上经历了从模拟到自具面貌的过程。抒情小诗从《古诗》及南朝民歌入手,披风抹月的诗学习王士禛,抒发政治情怀的诗受杜甫影响比较多。

As one of Nanshe＇ s founders, NING Tiaoyuan was both a famous political activist in the 1911 Revolution history, and an important Nanshe poet. In his short life, his poetry composition went through three periods. The first one covered years before 1907, when NING Tiaoyuan was still a teenager. In this period, his poem composition mainly focused on depictions of natural landscapes, personal sentiments, seasonal changes and reflections, departure of friends, and object intoning. Three features were incarnated of the young poet＇ s purity and tranquility. First of all, NING was especially good at depicting autumn scenery and his affections to it. Secondly, numerous object - intoning poems reflected his personality and sentiments. Thirdly, some poems indi- cated his aspiration of serving the army and the motherland, and his deep concern of country affairs. His artistic techniques e- volved from mere imitation to personal uniqueness. His lyrics followed The Ancient Poems and the folk songs of Southern Dynas- ty, while his poems on personal sentiments reflected his learning from WANG Shizhen; and his politically sentimental poems were to a large extent influenced by DU Fu.
