Para-aramid fiber is a high-performance special fiber. It is widely used in the military, civilianand other fields. In the 21 st century, the engineering technology of para-aramid fiber has achieved break-through, which entered the developing stage of industrialization. The research progress of para-aramid fiberwas introduced, the various applications and performance characteristics of para- aramid fiber were de-scribed, the situation of supply and demand of para-aramid fiber were investigated. Finally the productiondifficulty of para-aramid fiber, the present situation and developing prospect about aramid fiber industry inChina were discussed.
