Four Great Ci Poetesses in the Song Dynasty

宋代擅词的女词人颇多,其中李清照、朱淑真、吴淑姬、张玉娘并称为"宋代四大女词人",一直以来学界未有异议。李清照、朱淑真并称已久,从作品、声望乃至各位词论家的评论,二人皆名至实归。张玉娘在宋末大放异彩,也是名副其实。吴淑姬作品流传甚少,且词评家仅以"慧黠"二字评之。魏夫人词与秦七、黄九争雄,却不入列。经考证推理,认为李、朱、吴、张为"宋代四大女词人"之说依据并不充足,宋代四大女词人应该是李清照、朱淑真、魏夫人、张玉娘。

There are in the Song Dynasty numerous poetesses good at writing ci poems,of whom Li Qingzhao,Zhu Shuzhen,Wu Shuji and Zhang Yuniang have jointly been acclaimed as ＂four great Ci poetesses in the Song Dynasty＂,to which there has never been any objection in the academic circles. Li Qingzhao and Zhu Shuzhen have long been renowned and well deserved the reputation judged from their Ci poems,prestige and comments made by various Ci theorists. Zhang Yunian is also worthy of the name thanks to her extraordinary brilliant achievements in the late Song Dynasty,but Wu Shuji has left behind very few Ci poems,and her works have only been assessed as＂clever and artful＂by Ci theorists. Although Wei Furen can match Qin Qi and Huang Jiu in terms of Ci poem writing,she is not acknowledged as one of the four great poetesses. Through textual research and reasoning,it is opined that there are not sufficient evidence to affirm that Li Qingzhao,Zhu Shuzhen,Zhang Yuniang and Wu Shuji are ＂four great Ci poetesses in the Song Dynasty＂,and instead,the four great Ci poetesses should be Li Qingzhao,Zhu Shuzhen,Wei Furen,and Zhang Yuniang.
