＂Introduction to Environmental Engineering＂ is a professional foundation course that is both theoretical and highly practical. In view of the problems existing in the course teaching,this paper introduces case-based teaching that combines theory with practice. This paper analyzes the essence of implementing case-based teaching in the course, discusses the selection of teaching cases, the practice of case-based teaching, the existing problems and its development trend. By connecting the current hot issues, case-based teaching stimulates students＇ learning interest, enhances their understanding and mastery of knowledge,cultivates their ability to combine theory with practice, expands their scope of knowledge, improves their quality, and establishes their consciousness of environmental protection, thus making a contribution to the sustainable development of the society.Through the implementation of case-based teaching, the teaching effect of the course is improved.
