摘要
文章对39位"985工程"学校校长基本情况、教育与学术背景、任职情况进行分析发现,39位校长中,几乎全是男性、汉族和中共党员,平均年龄57岁,平均任职年龄53岁,主要来自东部和中西部中小城市,拥有院士等名目繁多的人才头衔,全部毕业于国内外名校、具有博士学位和正高职称,均为博士生导师,多数是本校校友,有海外学习或工作经历,理工科类居多,提拔升任是最主要的选任方式,多为副部长级别,多人身兼行政职务。通过对39位校长个人特征分析,文章进一步提出了加大女性大学校长选拔和任用力度、重视少数民族大学校长的培养和储备、促进大学校长学科研究转型、扩大大学校长选任视野、回归大学校长选任本真、加快大学校长职业化进程大学校长选择任用的六条建议。
Among the 39 “985 project-sponsored”university presidents in this study,nearly all of them are male from Han nationality,and members of China Communist Party.Their average age is 57, with 53 as their average age of taking office.They are mostly from small or medium cities of east and mid-west China,and possess a variety of tittles including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sci-ences or Chinese Academy of Engineering.They graduated from famous universities in China or a-broad with doctoral degree and professorship.All of them are supervisors of doctoral candidates. Most of them graduated from the universities in which they work as president,majoring mainly in sci-ence and technology,and have working or studying experience abroad.They are promoted by the deci-sion of the upper authority,and positioned as in equal to vice-minister,and most of them work as gov-erning leaders as well.By studying the personal traits of these university presidents,the paper puts forward the 6 suggestions as follows:making more efforts to select and appoint female university pres-idents;focusing on the cultivating and storing of university presidents from minority groups;promo-ting university president discipline transition;broadening the horizon of appointing university presi-dents;returning to the origin of appointing university presidents;enhancing the professionalization of university presidents.
