Why Is Democracy in Recession? New Developments on Causes of Democratic Recession in Western Academia

近年来,全球民主衰退现象成为国外学术界关注的热点话题。与以往民主衰退成因分析侧重于过程与结构取向不同,当前国外学者主要从治理危机、威权主义复兴、恐怖主义蔓延以及地缘政治学的视角来解读民主衰退的发生逻辑。国外学者对民主衰退成因的新近研究,为我们提供了一种域外的认知视角。

Recently,global democratic recession has been placed under spotlight on the western academic arena.Different from the existing attribution analysis from the process and structural perspectives,many foreign scholars argue that the governance crisis,authoritarian resurgence,terrorism contagion and the changes of geopolitics have resulted in democratic recession. Foreign scholars' recent studies on the causes of democracy recession provide us with a cognitive perspective from outside.
