彝族民间叙事诗体现了彝族民众的审美追求,它既有其他民族的共性,也有独特的民族特色。从外在形式上看,它具有独特"声韵"的音乐美,整齐与错落并存的建筑美;从内在情感抒发上,它表现了审美艺术的悲剧美,故事凄美哀婉,洋溢着一种悲凉的美感,富有民族幻想的浪漫主义色彩。

The Yi folk narrative poems reflect the aesthetic pursuit of the Yi people. It has the common character of other nationalities,and also has its own unique national features. From the external form,it has the beauty of music which has a unique ＂Rhyme＂,and architectural beauty with the coexistence of neat and scattered;from the inner feelings,it reflects the beauty of tragedy aesthetic art,sad story,permeated with a kind of melancholy beauty,and rich ethnic fantasy romantic color.
