An Interpretation of "BI"

关于"匕"字含义的阐释,学界有诸多看法,但至今未成体系。本文拟将对其含义进行系统性整理。文章主要以"女性"义和"用牲之法"义为出发点,对"匕"的其他义项进行解析和论证,从而推出"匕"字含义的发展脉络,使"匕"字各义项之间的联系更加清晰明了。文章探究主要以甲金文字形为分析主线,佐以相关字例、古书典籍用例进行解释说明。通过分析,认为女性义为"匕"的本义,由此本义引申出"排列、并列"的义项,而"饭匙、礼器、匕首"等其他义项为"用牲之法"义后起义。

There are many academic interpretations of the word ＂Bi （ 匕 ）＂, but no systematic interpretation of it is reached. This paper intends to make a systematic arrangement of its meaning. From the perspective of the meaning of female justice and the method of sacrifice, the paper intends to analyze and demonstrate the other senses of the ＂Bi （ 匕 ） ＂to clear the development of word and its relevant meaning. This essay takes bronze inscriptions as the main lines of analysis, with a further explanation of related words and ancient classical case. It is easy to get that the original meaning of ＂ Bi （ 匕） ＂ is its female meaning while juxtaposition is its extended meaning. The spoon, ritual, dagger and other items are the extension of the meaning of sacrifice.
