摘要
为了降低3维高性能视频编码(3D-HEVC)中深度图帧内编码过程的计算复杂度,提出了一种基于灰度直方图的提前终止编码单元(Coding Unit,CU)划分的快速算法。首先,对当前CU的像素值进行统计并生成灰度直方图,然后计算灰度直方图中灰度值分布的区间长度,当灰度值分布的区间长度小于给定的阈值时,提前结束当前CU的分割进程。实验结果表明,与原始HTM13.0算法相比,所提算法平均减少了35.64%的深度图编码时间,且合成视点的比特率仅仅增加了0.11%,有效降低了深度图的编码复杂度。
For reducing the high computational complexity of depth maps intra-coding, an algorithm is proposed to early terminate the CU splitting process by using the gray histogram of current CU. Firstly, all the pixel values of each CU are counted and then a gray histogram is generated. After that, the distance between the maximum gray value and the minimum gray value in gray histogram is calculated. If the distance is smaller than a threshold, the CU splitting process can be early terminated. Experimental results show that compared with HTM 13.0, the proposed algorithm can reduce 35.64% of depth map encoding time on average of with 0.11% bitrate increasing in synthesized views.
