西溪湿地丰富的植物资源是当地文化的重要组成部分。初步查阅,古代文献记录了60余种植物。植物不但是当地景观的重要内容,还成为西溪人民的生产生活资源,并与精神文明建设紧密相关。西溪湿地植物文化研究有利于合理科学景区规划园林,改善旅游生态环境,还原地区历史文化遗迹。

Plant culture in Xixi Wetland finds convincing evidence in its abundant documentary recordings for plant resources. With the sixty-odd plants recorded, it is safe to conclude that plants are as much a local scenic composition as an indispensible part of daily life necessity and spiritual symbols. To a large extent, a better knowledge of the plants and their cultural connotation contributes to an optimal design of the park and friendly ecological environment for tourists, even authentic restoration of historical cultural sites.
