The Epistemology of Practice as a Fundamental Methodology of Socialist Political Economics with Chinese Characteristics

建设中国特色社会主义没有现成的政治经济学教科书,新理论只能在实践中产生。改革开放以来,我国推行的基于实践基础上的"摸着石头过河"和顶层设计的改革方法,是我国改革开放取得伟大成就的重要法宝。西方国家有关我国经济发展的种种悲观预测在改革开放实践面前相继破产,被称为"现代经济学"的西方主流经济学既不符合中国实践,也不能指导我国社会主义经济建设。因此,实践认识论是除历史唯物论和唯物辩证法外,中国特色社会主义政治经济学的又一重要方法,是根本方法。

There is no textbook of politicaleconomics available which could provide reference for the socialist construction with Chinese characteristics, as new theories only originate from practice. Sincethe reform and opening-up, the reform methods that we adopt, which are based on'cautious attempt like crossing the river by feeling the stones'and‘top-leveldesign', are two crucial weapons for the great achievements of the reform. The pessimistic predictions about Chinese economic development were falsified oneafter another by the great success of the reform and opening-up. Western mainstream economics, known as'contemporary economy', neither goes with Chinesedomestic practice nor could guide our socialist economic construction. Hence, the epistemology of practice, in addition to historical materialism andmaterialistic dialectics, is another important and fundamental methodology for socialist political economics with Chinese characteristics.
