萨缪尔森与辉格思想史观:文献述评及研究设想

Paul Samuelson and Whig historiography of economics:Literature overview

萨缪尔森(1915-2009)不仅是经济学巨匠,在经济思想史方面也著述极丰。但学界对萨缪尔森思想史研究的成果与意义,还缺乏系统性的理解。萨缪尔森坦承,采用辉格史观研究学说史是其局限。通过梳理萨缪尔森的思想史文献,讨论其采用辉格史观的意义,并通过综述学者的各种见解来论证它的优缺点,可以发现辉格史观以现代科学方法倒推早期学者学术贡献的局限性。有关萨缪尔森研究经济思想史的系统性评价,还有待于后续的大量的研究与讨论。

Samuelson（1915-2009）was a great theoretical economist,he was also a great author on the history of economics,with more than 120 journal articles in this field.We need a more systematic understanding of his achievements and its significance in this less-understood field.Samuelson＇s prolific writings on the history of economics are reviewed to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of Whig historiography.This overview suggests that we need further to investigate Samuelson＇s writings by topics with deeper analytics.
