寻甸方言日常口语中,"么"常用作连词、语气和叹词。连词在于提出疑问,做出总结,表承接、选择、转折的意义。句末语气词表示确认、申述和疑问的语气;句中语气词则用于句中停顿处表强调,目的在于提出话题,引起注意;叹词"么"常置于句前,表惊讶、感叹的意味。从语用上看,连词"么"可以充当话语标记,语气词"么"则具有标记话题的功能。

In the daily spoken language of Xundian dialect, ＂ Me＂ is often used as a conjunction, a modal word in a sentence, a tone at the end of a sentence and an interjection.As a conjunction, it means to ask questions, make a summary, and shows the meaning of taking, selecting and turning. At the end of the sentence, the modal words indicate the tone of the confirmation, the representations and the interrogation; the modal words in the sentence are used to emphasize the sentence, the purpose is to raise the topic and to draw attention. The interjection ＂ Me＂ is often placed before sentence, expressing surprise exclamation means. From the pragmatic point of view, the conjunction＂ Me＂ can act as a discourse marker, and the modal word ＂Me＂ has the function of topic marker.
