饲草是当代畜牧业生产中的重要组成部分,使用高品质的饲料用于饲养动物,特别是反刍动物,能够提高畜牧业生产产品的质量和数量。现在已经有许多种草本植物和豆科植物可以用作畜禽饲料,其中大部分种类都是在当代畜牧生产中普遍使用的。例如,苜蓿、黑麦草、羊草、猫尾草、白三叶、红三叶等。随着近几年畜牧业和饲料工业生产的发展,人们希望找到其他一些种类的作物作为饲料的新资源,以适应不断变化的环境,满足动物的营养需求,从而获得更好的生产结果。菊苣成为近年来世界各地最受关注的品种之一,也是可以以不同的方式被使用的物种之一,比如用作饲料牧草来饲喂动物、在欧美等国家也可用作优质蔬菜食用、菊苣的某些成分还可以提取用作食品及药品的原料,具有保健作用。文章将从菊苣的栽培特性、营养成分等方面阐述菊苣作为饲用牧草饲喂不同种动物的饲用价值及国内外相关研究。

The forage is important for the livestock production. With a high-quality forage for feeding animals can improve the yields of livestock production. Chicory is one of the spe- cies that become more and more popular around the world. It is also a species that can be used in dif- ferent ways, such as high-quality vegetables, some ingredients of chicory can be used as raw materials for food or medicine. This paper will present the recent researches on chicory cultivation characteris- tics, nutrient composition that as a resource of making silage and effects of feeding different animals.
